Our Environment

Our Environment is the place where you are – the world around you.
For some of us that means houses and buildings… but it’s also about the parks and the fields, the lakes and rivers.
Because of global warming, there’s concern that the planet – our environment – is suffering and we’re going to damage it  beyond repair!

So, how good a ‘steward’ are you?? Take our quiz to find out.
To find out how good a ‘steward’ you are answer each question, make a note of each answer, a, b or c
At the end add up which letter you have the most of and look up the answer.
When do you turn out the lights?
A) Whenever I leave the room (and there’s no on left in there!)

When you’ve eaten your yogurt, do you:
A) Check whether you can recycle the tub, and find the right recycling bin
B) Put the tub in the bin
C) Leave the tub on the table for someone else to clear up
When you have a shower, do you:
A) Keep it quick, you don’t like wasting water
B) Sing the entire top ten whilst washing your hair
C) Shower?! No way, you’d prefer a good, deep bath
If you have a choice between getting a lift to school or cycling, do you:
A) Cycle every time… it cuts out pollution and keeps you fit
B) Cycle if it’s not raining, but otherwise beg until you can get a lift

You’ve been sent out to buy loo roll, do you:
A) Look for the recycled stuff
B) Do the job as quickly as possible – it doesn’t matter what you pick up
C) Refuse the job, you’ve got much better things to do
It’s Sunday afternoon, and you’re presented with the choice of going for a walk or watching TV. Do you:

You are the ‘Supremo-Enviro-Steward!’ You’ve realised that you have a responsibility to look after yourself and your environment, and you know that the way you live makes an impact on the rest of the world. You take your responsibility seriously – keep it up! Be encouraged, see what other young people are doing HERE.
