Each month a different discussion starter can be found on the 'Word on the Street'. The discussions are based around issues that young people face, and start with a story they may be able to relate to. They also include a scripural reflection connected to the topic. It's available to down load for use off line, but you could also encourage a visit to that page, to place a vote in the related poll.
The Bible Detectives Quiz is a monthly competition. Each quiz features 6 questions about the Old and New Testaments, and random Bible trivia. This is a great way to get your children or students to explore the Bible, and begin to learn their way around it. Once they've completed the quiz they can send it in to enter the prize draw, to win a Bible, a Yfaith t-shirt and Yfaith pen. This month's quiz
To continue the Biblical theme, use the quiz in conjunction with exploring the 'What is God's Word?' page, or with a reflection on the 'Sunday Readings'. If you're a teacher, think about becoming a Bible Detectives Class, or year group. You could run your own prize draw, or we could send you Yfaith pens or Tshirts for the winners.
The content of Yfaith is co-written by Young Writers. News and reviews are written by our 10-13 year olds users, and the 'Step Ahead' columns feature interviews with those who are 14+, and can be role models for the site's users. Take a look at the Reviews Page, and the Girls only and Boys only pages to see examples. Guidelines for writing and parental consent forms can be downloaded in our writer's pack. All entrants will receive a Yfaith pen and those published will receive a Yfaith Tshirt. Yfaith Writers Pack.
Would you like to write for Yfaith yourself? The Yfaith website relies largely on a team of volunteer writers. We are currently recruiting writers for either one off or regular contributions. Download information. |
